Link shape that works best
Use Share → Copy link so you get x.com/…/status/… or twitter.com/…/status/…. Incomplete redirects and interstitial pages are a frequent cause of empty results. If the media is not visible while logged out, do not expect this tool to fetch it.
Threads and quote posts
Resolve the exact status that contains the video. Quote posts sometimes point at a text parent while the clip lives on another status ID in the conversation.
Research vs republication
A private reference copy of a public post (for example for fact-checking) is not the same as uploading that clip to your channel or using it in marketing. Copyright and platform rules still govern redistribution. Keep source URLs with any research archive you maintain.
