YouTube downloads on VidLinkIt: what to expect

The YouTube tool on this page is for lawful personal offline access to public videos you are allowed to keep — for example your own uploads, clearly licensed material, or other rights-cleared cases. It is not a substitute for YouTube Premium’s official offline feature and it is not permission to archive an entire entertainment catalogue.

Supported link patterns

  • Standard watch URLs (youtube.com/watch?v=…)
  • Short links (youtu.be/…)
  • YouTube Shorts when publicly available
  • Some playlist URLs (results depend on public metadata)

Quality picker tips

After a successful resolve you can usually choose resolution or audio-only. Pick 720p for everyday phone viewing; use higher resolutions only when you need archival clarity and have enough storage. If a 1080p or 4K option fails, retry a mid-range quality — source delivery often differs by format.

Limits you should know

Private videos, members-only content, many live-only streams, and DRM-protected products are out of scope. YouTube also changes technical requirements regularly, so occasional resolve failures can happen even for public links. When that occurs, confirm the video still plays in a normal browser, then try again later.
