How VidLinkIt Works: Paste a Link, Choose a Format, Save Offline

VidLinkIt is a browser-based media utility. You paste a publicly accessible link, we detect the platform, and — when the link is supported — we show download options you can save to your device for lawful personal use.

The three-step workflow

  1. Paste a supported URL on the homepage or a platform page. Examples include public YouTube watch links, Instagram posts or reels, TikTok video pages, Facebook Watch links, X (Twitter) status videos, and TeraBox share links.
  2. Review what VidLinkIt finds. For many platforms you will see a title, thumbnail, and available qualities or file types. If something cannot be resolved, you get a clear error instead of a broken file.
  3. Save to your device. Choose the option that fits your needs (for example 720p video or audio-only when available), then download. Files are delivered to you; VidLinkIt is not a media hosting or streaming library of other people’s videos.

What happens behind the scenes

When you submit a link, our server identifies the source platform and requests publicly available metadata from that ecosystem’s normal web delivery paths. We do not ask for your social media password for everyday use. We do not claim to unlock private accounts, paid catalogues, or DRM-protected libraries.

Some platforms change their technical requirements often. Availability can vary by region, video privacy settings, age gates, and temporary outages. A link that worked yesterday may fail today if the source changed how it serves media.

Homepage vs platform pages

The homepage auto-detects many platforms from a single paste box. Dedicated pages such as YouTube, Instagram, and TeraBox add platform-specific notes, limits, and guides so you know what is supported before you paste.

What VidLinkIt is not

  • Not a piracy site or “free Netflix” mirror
  • Not affiliated with YouTube, Meta, TikTok, X, or TeraBox
  • Not a place that stores other people’s video libraries on our servers for browsing
  • Not a tool for bypassing login walls, paywalls, or DRM

Best practices before you download

Only process media you created, own, or are otherwise allowed to keep offline. When in doubt, ask the rights holder or use the official offline features of the platform (for example YouTube Premium offline downloads where available). Read our Terms of Service and Disclaimer before heavy use.
